ECHO DOING WELL

I apologize for not sending an update on Echo sooner, but as you can imagine we've been quite busy getting all settled in.  I can't believe it's been a month already.  Echo is doing very well...she gained 10.5 lbs. and grew 4-5" taller and longer in the first month since I adopted her.  We went to the vet this past Saturday and she weighed 23.5 lbs!  I'm attaching a picture of her taken just last week...she was so proud because she had just learned how to get up on the picnic table.  It took her a little longer to figure out how to get down, but now she's an old pro at it.  You can see how much she's grown in this picture.  Can you believe it?

We start "puppy school" on October 17th.  Can't wait.  She's so smart and has learned so much already, but I know she and I both still have a lot to learn so I'm really looking forward to getting guidance with her training to keep her (and me) on the right track.  She's doing very well with potty training (I decided to do the kennel training as you suggested), and we're also focusing on the other usual puppy items like walking on a leash, not 'nipping' or 'mouthing', etc.  She's so smart...sometimes I'm not sure if I'm training her or she's training me!  :)  She LOVES walks...they're her absolute FAVORITE thing (aside from treats and belly scratches, of course!).

Thank you again for your help in finding Echo...she's a wonderful companion, and I can't imagine our home without her now.  The cats are getting more used to her now, too, and I'm sure they'll all be fine (they wouldn't admit it, but I think they're actually growing to like her a bit now too!).

Thank you again for all your help.

Take care,
Christina  (and Echo, too!)  :)
